About Duolingo
Duolingo is a free online software (also available as apps) that helps users to learn other languages, including French, Spanish, Italian, German and Portuguese. New language courses are in the process of being developed, so hopefully there will also be more options in the future.
Organized in a game-like format, Duolingo allows learners to progress through levels, level up, earn "lingots", and share progress with friends.
As users progress through each level, they learn through listening, translating to English and also to the target language, and (if you have a microphone) speaking.
